For anyone who’s ever been curious about Hindustani music, tabla maestro Manjit Singh and vocalist Balamohan Shingade will be introducing and performing it at the festival!

Hindustani music (also known as North Indian classical music) is an improvised tradition from the Subcontinent. Balamohan Shingade is a vocalist, and a student of Rajendra Kandalgaonkar with whom he continues his education in the guru-shishya tradition. Manjit Singh upholds the essence of traditional Tabla playing. He has been teaching and performing Music since 1997. He has a Master’s in Tabla from India and finished a Master’s research degree in Musicology from Auckland University.
