“Music was an integral part of growing up Filipino. I am grateful that my grandmother discovered I could sing while teaching me Filipino folk tunes and nursery rhymes.”
Kathy is a singer-songwriter originally from Wellington. She has been a member of Filcoro, the Wellington Filipino community choir, for a number of years and has written and performed some choral arrangements with the group. Influenced by artists like AJ Rafael, Sara Bareilles, and the singers her mum listens to, her original music can be described as a cross between pop, jazz and musical theatre.
